MCF Community Church is a multi-cultural, non-denominational Christian church serving the DC metro area.
Our Vision
MCF Community Church exists to be a missional, Christ-Centered Community.
Our History
MCF Community Church launched June 5, 2011.
Yet our story begins 22 years earlier. Just after their wedding in 1989, Pastor Jeff & Dawn moved to the DC area to work full-time with the student ministry at the University of Maryland although only being paid part-time. The campus ministry had many challenges and the group of 40 dwindled to 8 in those early years.
Pastor Jeff challenged those 8 to sow the seed in the hope of reaping through the blessing of Jesus. Over the years, Jesus impacted many lives that blossomed into the ministry that now not only impacts the University of Maryland, but the students and families at Greenbelt Elementary School, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, the local community and more recently internationally in Nicaragua.
Ministry is messy. There is no such thing as a perfect church because there is no such thing as a perfect person, other than Jesus. The uniqueness of MCF is our commitment to God’s Word, the Bible, our passion to share the hope of Jesus with others , our fervent desire to impact our local community by practically living out our faith and our genuine concern for others. The congregation and community have direct access to Pastor Jeff and the MCF volunteer team. Due to MCF’s strong volunteers, almost 70 cents of every dollar donated is directly invested to impact others for Jesus (a typical congregation is 3-5 cents of every dollar donated).
